Arrival by ferry to the island of Lobos

Just as you disembark from the ferry, at the entrance to the dock on Lobos Island, you will be welcomed by the statue of the Spanish writer, poet and essayist who was born on the island: Josefina Plá, and to your left the visitor center, where you will have access to more information about the island and public bathing services.

What to do once on the island?

Relax on the beach

If you want to enjoy a quiet beach, 7 minutes from the pier on the left you will arrive at La Concha beach where you can admire from a distance the coast of Fuerteventura and the Dunes of Corralejo. On the other hand, if from the dock you take the path to the right, also 7 minutes away you can visit the popular Puertito, an old fishing village where there is a small sandy cove and you will find a rest area that will provide you with some shade and tables to eat or rest.

Discover Lobos Island on foot or by bike

If you prefer hiking or cycling excursions, we advise you to go to the Faro Martiño. It is located to the north of the islet, where you can rest in its shade, enjoying the views of Lanzarote and its volcanoes as a backdrop.

In addition, you can also climb the mountain La Caldera which, with its 127 meters high, is the highest point on the island. Here you can admire the wonderful view of Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and Lobos.


Important: Before going up to the Caldera mountain, you should know that you enter an area of Nesting of Protected Birds (ZEPA zone, protected by the Natura 2000 Plan), so silence is requested along the trail (Critical Period from February 15 to July 31)


If you are a nature lover, you cannot miss the inland badlands. Take a walk around it Saladada del Faro Martiño and Las Lagunitas, its more than 130 plant species and its native birds have turned this idyllic spot into a true natural sanctuary. Open your senses to the representative flora and fauna of the area with our excursions through the paths of the islet.


The approximate time to walk around the island is 2:30 hours.



Watersports

If you like water sports you will fall in love with the charms hidden under the waters of the coast of Isla de Lobos. The great ecological richness of its extraordinary depths make it an underwater reserve area. Dare to swim among hundreds of fish by choosing the MiniCruise & Snorkel option with views from the boat of three wonderful islands.

You can also enjoy surfing on the southwest coast at the foot of La Caldera mountain to El Marrajo del islote where you can get the most famous wave in Fuerteventura, for being the longest in the Canary Islands, better known as: the right of Wolves.

Where should I take the boat to go to the island of Lobos?

Our Majorero boat leaves, from the end of the port of Corralejo (bus line 6 or on Google Maps), every day except: January 1 and 6, July 16 (Virgen del Carmen day), December 25 and eventual cancellations due to bad weather or exceptional situations.


What do I have to bring?

  • Sun protection (cream, hats, umbrellas etc.)
  • Appropriate and comfortable shoes (sports shoes)
  • Towel, swimsuit and flip flops
